Tata Steel is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the position of Engineer Trainee in Operations, Mining, Maintenance, and Engineering & Projects. This is an excellent opportunity for young engineering graduates to begin their career with one of India’s leading steel companies.

  • Engineer Trainee (AEP 2026)

Eligible Disciplines

  • Full-time B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering candidates (2025 pass-outs or final-year students graduating in 2026) in:

• Ceramic
• Chemical
• Civil
• Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / IEM
• Mechanical
• Metallurgy
• Mineral
• Mining

Candidates who completed a 3-year diploma and joined engineering directly in 2nd year are also eligible.

Educational Requirements

• Full-time AICTE / UGC approved campus program mandatory

Minimum Marks (Aggregate)

• General: 60% or 6.0 CGPA
• Transperson: 60% or 6.0 CGPA
• ST / SC: 60% or 6.0 CGPA
• PwD: 65% or 6.5 CGPA

Age Criteria (as on 1 January 2026)

• General Candidates: Maximum 30 Years
• Transperson & PwD Candidates: Maximum 32 Years
• ST / SC Candidates: Maximum 32 Years

Preference

Preference will be given to candidates domiciled in:

• Jharkhand
• Punjab
• Maharashtra
• Odisha

Programme Details

• Selected candidates will be appointed as Engineer Trainee for 1 year
• Regular performance evaluations during training
• On successful completion, candidates may be absorbed as Assistant Manager (IL6)

Important: Candidates must submit degree completion and required marks by 31 August 2026, failing which training may be terminated.

Emoluments & Benefits

• Stipend: ₹30,000 per month during 1-year training
• Medi-Claim for self:
– Hospitalization: ₹2,50,000 per annum
– OPD Coverage: ₹6,000 per annum

After successful completion:
• CTC: ₹7.4 LPA + company benefits as per policy
