The position involves inspection, supervision, technical review and coordination of mechanical works across water treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated water supply infrastructure.

1. PMC Mechanical Engineer

- Qualification: B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Key Responsibilities
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, BOQ and contract requirements.
- Review and recommend approval of contractor’s shop/fabrication drawings.
- Check selection and technical specifications of pumps, motors and mechanical equipment.
- Supervise installation of pumps, motors, couplings, bearings and accessories.
- Inspect installation of NRVs, butterfly valves, sluice valves and related fittings.
- Supervise mechanical piping, joints, supports, flanges and fittings.
- Inspect mechanical works at WTPs, pumping stations, GSRS, ESRs and sumps.
- Verify mechanical materials, makes, test certificates and inspection reports.
- Witness factory inspection/testing of major mechanical equipment wherever required.
- Check equipment foundations, alignment, levels, anchor bolts and grouting.
- Witness pressure/hydrostatic testing of mechanical piping and equipment.
- Witness pump performance testing and verify head, discharge and efficiency.
- Supervise testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with Electrical and Instrumentation/SCADA Engineers for system integration.
- Monitor contractor’s mechanical work progress and manpower deployment.
- Verify measurements and mechanical quantities for RA and final bills.
- Identify defective or non-conforming works and monitor their rectification.
- Monitor preventive maintenance and O&M activities during the applicable period.
- Verify as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and commissioning documents.
- Submit inspection reports and technical recommendations to the PMC Project Manager/RMC.
Role Responsibility
The PMC Mechanical Engineer will inspect, supervise and recommend acceptance of the contractor’s mechanical works. The contractor will remain responsible for workmanship, equipment performance, safety and contractual obligations.
