Job Details:
- Role: Assistant Manager / Manager – Quality Control (Power Transmission & Distribution)
- Qualifications Required: Diploma / BE / B.Tech – Civil or Electrical
- Experience: 4 to 12 years
- Location: Karnataka Project Site
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the approved FQP for both Transmission Line and Substation works.
- Ensure quality control measures are integrated across all project phases — from material receipt to commissioning.
- Lead, mentor, and monitor site QC engineers across multiple project locations.
- Plan manpower deployment for quality functions and evaluate team performance regularly.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions for site teams and contractors on quality standards and best practices.
- Carry out inspections and verification for all civil, mechanical, and electrical construction stages.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and approved construction drawings.
- Identify and report non-conformances; raise NCRs and ensure timely corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor workmanship quality during tower erection, stringing, equipment installation, and related activities.
- Conduct visual inspection of incoming materials such as steel structures, conductors, insulators, earth materials, and substation equipment.
- Verify that all materials meet project specifications before use or installation.
- Supervise foundation work, reinforcement, concreting, welding, earthing, and cable laying activities.
- Ensure execution follows approved method statements and standard work procedures.
- Witness and record field and laboratory test results (FDT, concrete cube strength, earthing resistance, insulation resistance, continuity, etc.).
- Maintain and update quality registers, checklists, inspection reports, and daily logs.
- Submit daily/weekly quality performance reports to Head Office.
- Coordinate inspections with Third-Party Inspectors and Contractors.
- Support during internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance with corrective actions.
- Participate in quality review meetings and ensure effective closure of pending issues.
