Tata Steel is inviting applications from eligible and motivated candidates for One-Year Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 at its Metaliks Division & Bearing Division.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Diploma holders in:
- Metallurgy
- Mechanical
- Production
- Electrical
(Minimum 50% aggregate, from AICTE/UGC recognized institutions)
- ITI in:
- Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrical, Foundryman
(Minimum 50% aggregate from recognized ITIs)
- Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrical, Foundryman
Passing Year
- Only pass-out candidates (no backlogs)
- Passing year must be 2021 or later
Age Limit
- Candidates born between 01 July 2000 and 01 November 2007 (both dates inclusive)
Residential Criteria
- Only residents of West Bengal are eligible to apply.
Training Details
- Duration: 1 year (On-the-job plant training)
- Stipend:
- ₹8,050/- per month (ITI holders)
- ₹9,000/- per month (Diploma holders)
- No hostel facility. Accommodation must be self-arranged
- Training Location: Various sections of Tata Steel Metaliks & Bearing Divisions
Important Notes
- Apprenticeship is governed by the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and its amendments.
- Candidates already enrolled or completed apprenticeship elsewhere are not eligible.
- On successful completion, candidates will receive a Tata Steel Apprenticeship Completion Certificate.

- Written Test (Online mode at Kharagpur centres)
- Test schedule will be shared via registered email
- Candidates must bring their own mobile/laptop/tab with internet connectivity
