Position: Junior Quantity Surveyor
- Location: Mumbai – Head Office
- Reporting To: Senior Quantity Surveyor / HOD Tendering
- Industry: Construction / Infrastructure / Real Estate
- Salary: As per industry standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Quantity Take-Offs: Assist in preparing accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Cost Estimation: Support the development of preliminary and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
- BOQ Preparation: Help in preparing and updating Bills of Quantities in coordination with engineering teams.
- Tendering Support: Assist in preparing tender documents, bid evaluations, and comparative analysis.
- Rate Analysis: Analyze material, labor, and equipment rates for different items.
- Site Measurement & Verification: Coordinate with the site team to verify work and prepare measurement sheets.
- Billing Support: Assist in preparation and submission of client and subcontractor bills.
- Cost Control: Monitor ongoing project costs and highlight variances from the approved budget.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain updated cost records and prepare periodic reports.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for rate negotiations and certification processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
- Experience: 3 years total experience, with 1–2 years in quantity surveying or cost estimation in infrastructure projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD
- Familiarity with quantity surveying software like CostX, Candy (Revit optional)
- Understanding of standard methods of measurement and tender documentation
- Analytical mindset with excellent numerical skills
- Effective communication and reporting ability
- Preferred Certifications:
- Quantity Surveying or Construction Cost Management certification
- Knowledge of FIDIC or other contract standards is an added advantage
Working Conditions:
- Office-based in Mumbai, with occasional project site visits.
- Willingness to work extended hours during critical phases of project delivery.
