captive power plant at Angul. Its plato mill is capable of producing 5 meter wide plates, which is the widest plate ever built in India
The Integrated Steel Mant, initially envisaged as the country’s first steel plant to be based on purely swadeshi
raw material, involved setting up world’s largest Cool Gasification Plant (COP) for Steelmaking through the DRI route. The major facilities at the plant includes Blast furnace, Coal washery, Sinter plant, Pellet plant, Coke-oven and by product plant, Coal gasification plant, Dai plant, Steel Melting Shop, Slab caster, Plate mill and Hot strip mill, Cygen plant, Lime and Dolomite plant, Power plant,
Coal Gasification Plant
Coal Gasification Plant is the first of its kind in the country (India) based on the technology by LURGI. This plant is producing synthesis gas which is being used by downstream DRI plant for steel making .
CGP consists of 7 gasifiers which can produce 225000 NM3/Hour of pure Syn Gas and various liquid by-products. The Lurgi technology facilitates for production of various by-products like Gasification Oil, Tar, Phenol, Phenolic Pitch, Liquid Ammonia, Rectisol, Naptha and Sulphur.

We have the largest Blast Furnace in India (4554 cubic meter Avg, hot metal production 11.000 TPD & max production 12,000 TPD. Designed with state-of-art technology and equipped with Level 2 Automation. Designed for very high PCI Injection (250 kg) & high oxygen enrichment (up to 9%)
